An important piece of legislation (House Bill 3703) was recently signed into law by Republican Gov. Greg Abbott. The new measure is aimed at expanding the pool of eligible patients to receive high-CBD/low-THC medical cannabis products.
As per the new measure patients diagnosed with any of these medical conditions/disorders (seizure disorder, autism, an incurable neurodegenerative disorder, multiple sclerosis, terminal cancer, and/or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis may be eligible to be enrolled in the state's limited cannabis-access program. In addition to this, the measure which is expected to take effect on September 01, 2019 also facilitates the patients by removing the condition of obtaining the necessary recommendations from two participating physicians in order to get enrolled in the state's cannabis-access program.
