An important piece of legislation (the House Bill 1028) was signed by Democratic Governor Jared Polis. The bill (HB-1028) is aimed at expanding the pool of patients who live in Colorado and who qualify to access medical cannabis to add to the list those who suffer from Autism spectrum disorder. In addition to this, the bill also focuses on prioritizing grant funding for researching the use of medical cannabis for Autism spectrum disorder and other pediatric medical conditions, for this purpose the bill mandates the state Board of Health to play an effective role.
In the past, several studies and clinical trials have also reported that adjunctive use of cannabidiol is linked with a reduction in the Autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The clinical trial data as reported here also suggest that use adjunctive cannabidiol is also well-tolerated among patients who suffer from ASD and other such disorders.
