District Attorney's Office Dismisses Marijuana Convictions in Sacramento California

Thousands of past marijuana-related convictions have been identified and dismissed by the representatives of the Sacramento District Attorney's Office in the past few months. In addition to this, they have also identified and reduced thousands of other such convictions to misdemeanors.

As per the reports coming from Fox News analysts, officials of the Sacramento DA Office have dismissed more than 2,000 marijuana-related (low-level)) convictions and reduced more than 3,000 felony convictions to misdemeanors.

It should be kept in mind that the lawmakers in the state passed an important piece of legislation (the AB-1793) which was aimed at automatic expungement or reduction of past cannabis-related convictions for an offense that does not fall in the category of 'crime' as of 01/01/2017.
